Welcome to Jays Class!
Spring Term 1
We have been very busy learning all about owls. To find out what owls eat we dissected owl pellets. This involved finding and identifying different animal bones and putting the skeletons back together! Ms Jones asked us to find out lots of interesting facts about these nocturnal animals and create a leaflet to share with Roman Way Primary School children. We have really enjoyed listening to The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson. Plop certainly overcame his fear of the dark!
In Maths we have been problem solving and reasoning. We know how important it is to be able to prove our answers.
In Science we have been learning about food chains and observing changes through the season and weather. Keeping bulb diaries has helped us to record our observations and illustrations.
Our topic next term will be The Great Fire of London. We can’t wait to find out how it started!
Summer Term 1
In case you didn’t know the Great Fire of London started on 2nd September 1666 in a bakers shop on Pudding Lane! We travelled back in time with the Open Box Theatre company to the time of the Great Fire. We thoroughly enjoyed writing diary entries as Samuel Pepys.
