School Year 2019


During the first four days of the Autumn Term, the children will be getting to know adults, the classroom and routines. This will be supported by all adults and a visual timetable. The next topic is planned for the rest of the half term and it is ‘The Enormous Crocodile.’

The children will be writing a story including character and setting descriptions. The children will be using speech bubbles and they will writing a persuasive letter. The children will also learn about story writing and the main parts of a story and vocabulary and language that will engage the reader.

In Maths, the children will be concentrating on place value which will include addition and subtraction. They will also continue their learning about multiplication and division along with fractions.

Through P.E sessions, the children will be working together as a team to compete in team games and they will have an opportunity to work together as a class through parachute games.

In Science the children will be sorting animals into sets learning about classifying animals and learning new vocabulary like, mammals, reptiles, birds and insects and humans keeping healthy.

In Art, the children will focus on a particular artist and they will be creating collages and sketching their own portraits. This will the children the opportunity to use a variety of mediums.
