Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.
Eligibility depends on the circumstances of the parents or carers of the pupil. A child is eligible for pupil premium if their parent of carer receives one or more of the following benefits as listed here.
Service pupil premium is additional funding for schools, but it is not based on disadvantage. Pupils will attract pupil premium finding if one of their parents is serving in the regular armed forces and they are recorded in the October school census as being a 'service child'.
To be able to receive this additional funding families need to let us know about their individual circumstances. Please speak to a member of the school office team or to Sally, Family Partnership Manager if you think your child is eligible or if your circumstances change.
If you want to check eligibility for your child, you can do so here.
