Working with Parents

Every time you drop off and collect your child you will be greeted by a member of the class staff. You are welcome to ask any quick questions at this time or to arrange a convenient time for a longer discussion if you need to.  Children have a book which is brought to nursery each day and can be used to record development achievements, highlights of their day and messages from staff to parents and vice versa.

In Owls the book is is called a reading diary and along with this they bring a book home each day for you to share with them. In Owlets the book is called a communication book.

There are also several opportunities to meet throughout the year if your child is in our Owls Class such as:

Show and Share afternoons – parents are invited to join the children in the classroom to share some of their learning experiences.

Parents Evening – an appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss how well your child is doing at school and any next steps for learning – these take place in Autumn and Spring term.

Annual school report – a detailed report outlining progress and attainment in all areas of the curriculum.

If your child is in our Owlets class:

Come and Play - Parents join in playing with their children in the class, usually on a termly basis.

2 year Checks - You will be invited to a one to one appointment to discuss your child's progress.

Family Partnership Manager

My name is Sally Loader and I am the Family Partnership Manager at Knights Enham Nursery and Infant School. My role within the school includes providing help and support to families and to act as an extra link between families and school. There are times when for any number of reasons families experience difficulties or are just feeling a little overwhelmed and low due to the stresses of everyday life. It may be hard to approach a teacher or the school. That’s where I come in. I am available to provide support and accompany you to meetings both in and out of school. I can access outside agencies and resources and I will be more than happy to make enquiries for you. If I can’t give you an answer, I will find somebody who can.

I can offer parenting advice. Please contact me in person, by telephone, text or email.  I am available from 8.30am—4pm, 4 days a week.
